Embassy Suites by Hilton Lexington/UK Coldstream has completed a multi-million-dollar renovation, introducing refreshed guest suites, upgraded meeting and event space, and modern public areas that strengthen its position as a premier destination for meetings, events, and travel in Lexington, Kentucky.

Kimberly Furlong, chief commercial officer, advised that hoteliers need to evolve how they think about distribution strategies. "From my perspective, [online travel agencies] have a much better relationship with the brands because the brands finally gave in to the OTAs to allow for things like travel ads and accelerator and all the ways you can get the OTAs more money and brands more scale on the commission," she said at the conference.

The Chateau on the Lake Resort Spa & Convention Center received their 21st consecutive AAA 4 Diamond Award. Of more than 27,000 hotels inspected by AAA in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean, only 1,722 received four diamonds in the last 12 months.

Nigel Cossey, General Manager from the Allen Courtyard, received the Spirit of Allen Award. Nigel has implemented, with the help of the Allen Police Department,  a safe haven program for domestic violence victims and their children. This allows the police department to send victims and their children to have a safe place to stay for a few days while they figure out a stable place to stay. Since the implementation of the program in December 2019, around a dozen women and children have been provided safe shelter to have time to plan their next stages of life.

Debbie Smith from the Springfield, MO Courtyard by Marriott was selected as the Springfield Hotel Lodging Association 2019 FOH Hero of Hospitality. Debbie was selected from numerous Springfield Hospitality associates for always going above and beyond her job responsibilities.

Cristina Roberts, Sales Manager, and Seth Hulsey, Event Sales Manager, from the Embassy Suites by Hilton Hot Springs were among the thirty-five employers from around the state of Arkansas who participated in an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve tour on June 24, 2019. Charles Jones, Association Sales Manager from the Embassy Suites by Hilton Dallas Frisco, was named the "Most Valuable Partner" for the third quarter by the Frisco CVB. This is an award given each quarter to a sales manager in the city that does an extraordinary job at getting the city of Frisco involved with their site tours and groups in house.

The publishers and editors of ConventionSouth, the national multimedia resource for planning events in the South, presented Chateau on the Lake Resort, Spa & Conference Center with a 2019 Readers' Choice Award. Of thousands of meeting destinations, over 2,500 were nominated this year, and only 337 total were chosen winners. After over 7,000 readers and fans voted, the hotel won the annual award.

Charles Johnson, Assistant General Manager at the Charlotte Renaissance Suites has been selected by Hotel Management for the "Thirty Under 30: The Hotel Industry's Top Rising Stars." Every year Hotel Management seeks nominations from the hospitality industry for its annual Thirty Under 30 list, composed of the industry's best and brightest rising stars.

At this year's Convention of Visitors Bureau Awards Banquet, the Des Moines Embassy Suites was honored with the Catch Des Moines Visitor Choice Award for the 2019 Hotel of the Year. This is award is voted on by visitors to the Des Moines area and guests of the hotel. General Manager, Steve Mullen, accepted the award with pride and conveyed his thanks and appreciation to all the Des Moines Embassy Suites associates for their hard work and dedication.

The Monterey Peninsula Chamber Business awarded the Embassy Suites by Hilton Monterey Bay Seaside a top award for for 2019 Accommodations & Visitor Services.

The Renaissance Tulsa was awarded the well-earned AAA Four Diamond Award for 2019. This exclusive group represents just 6.3 percent of the more than 27,000 AAA Inspected & Approved hotels across North America.

Rafe Parker, the Accounts Receivable for Embassy Suites by Hilton Lincoln, was awarded the 2019 Stars of the Industry Outstanding Employee Award from the Nebraska Hotel and Lodging Association.

Associates from the Capitol Plaza Topeka received special recognition at the 2019 Topeka Lodging Association Awarding Excellence Luncheon. Nelda Pickett, Banquet Captain from the Capitol Plaza Topeka, won the award in the Banquet Server Category. Other nominees from the Capitol Plaza Hotel were Jeanne Riggs, Bill Beggs, Mark Henderson, Bryan Snook and Miranda Harwood.

U.S. News & World Report ranks the best hotels in Branson based on an analysis of industry awards, hotel star ratings and user ratings. Hotels that scored in the top 10 percent of the Best Hotels in the USA earned a Gold badge. Hotels that appear after ranked hotels are sorted by hotel class and then by user rating, as provided by TripAdvisor.

The Holiday Inn Cincinnati Eastgate hotel was nominated as Best Place to Have a Wedding, Best Chef and Best Beer Selection at the Best of the East Event in 2019.

Atrium Hospitality announced Swietlana Cahill is the new general manager of the company's Hilton Long Beach in California. Cahill joins Atrium with more than 25 years of hospitality experience, including 12 years in the Los Angeles area.

The promotions name Bloom as an area general manager and Ruble as a regional director of sales and marketing. Combined, the two hospitality veterans bring six decades of hands-on hotel management, sales and food and beverage experience to the advancement opportunities for the Alpharetta, Georgia-based company.

Colin Garrison from our Residence Inn by Marriott Kansas City Airport has been chosen to be the only Special Olympian from the state of Missouri to join the USA team to compete in the 2019 Special Olympics World Games in the city of Abu Dhabi. He will compete in Bocce, which was his sport at the USA games.

With more than 20 years of hospitality experience, Migidi Tembo joins Atrium Hospitality as general manager to oversee the Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in Illinois.

Atrium Hospitality has promoted Larry Cooper to regional director of operations responsible for five Atrium hotels representing 960 rooms/suites. In this role, he assumes general manager responsibilities of the 400-suite Embassy Suites by Hilton Northwest Arkansas Hotel, Spa & Convention Center in Rogers, Arkansas.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation honored Jessie Terry from our Holiday Inn Springdale at a special event recognizing outstanding young professionals in the community. By accepting this distinction, he has committed to raise money to help the foundation achieve its mission of controlling and curing cystic fibrosis. CF is a rare genetic disease affecting 30,000 children and adults in the United States.

Our Embassy Suites by Hilton Columbia Greystone hosted the SC Military Order of the Purple Heart and were honored with an official proclamation of being a "Purple Heart" hotel of South Carolina.

Associates from our Embassy Suites and Homewood Suites by Hilton Greensboro donated and delivered supplies to individuals effected by a recent tornado in Greensboro.

Jonathan Eilian's JD Holdings LLC has reached a deal with the estate of a late Missouri hotelier that paves the way for the real-estate investor to acquire a hotel portfolio valued at about $1 billion that had been tied up in legal disputes for nearly a decade.

The Marriott Tucson University Park Hotel  announced a new 20-year-deal with Marriott that goes into effect on March 1.

Atrium Hospitality corporate employees and some of their children spent  MLK Jr. Day delivering food in different communities in Atlanta. Team members delivered meals door to door from the service Open Hand Atlanta. Open Hand helps people manage chronic disease with home-delivered meals and nutrition education as a means to reinforce the connection between informed food choices and improved quality of life.

Taylor Toreno, Spa Director at Spa Botanica at our Embassy Suites by Hilton Northwest Arkansas - Hotel, Spa & Convention Center was named a Success Ambassador by Dress for Success NWA. Elenita Penamante from the Embassy Suites by Hilton Monterey Bay is the proud winner of the Monterey County Hospitality Association Special Achievement Award. This award focuses on excellence of the guest experience, as well as hospitality leadership

Jenna Darnell is the 2018 Central Illinois Stars of the Industry Regional Winner in the Administrative Employee of the Year category. Jenna is the Sales Admin for the Normal Marriott. She will go on to compete against the rest of the regional winners in the state on December 14 in Chicago.

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD), Blind Services and Vocational Rehabilitation recognized 12 businesses as Florida Exceptional Employers for hiring and retaining employees who have disabilities. Our Renaissance World Golf Village Resort was one of the winners for this award for their partnership with Project Search.

Atrium Hospitality gathered donations from the corporate team to support Second Wind Dreams' Gifts of Light Program this holiday season. The Gifts of Light program is hosted annually, gathering volunteers and corporate sponsors to adopt neglected nursing home residents, some of whom are wards of the state with little to no support and no expectation for gifts or visits.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Monterey Bay — Seaside has completed a multi-million-dollar renovation evoking the coastal beauty of the California beachfront that lies just two blocks away. The stylish refresh encompasses the hotel's restaurant and lounge, all guestrooms, meeting space, and the open-air atrium lobby.

​After California's wildfires on October 10 reduced the Hilton Sonoma Wine Country Hotel to ashes, the property's HR director posted a plea on her Facebook page asking colleagues if they might have work for the 130 hotel employees who were now without jobs.

Our Waterside Seafood Company in Norfolk, Virginia was featured in FSR (Full Service Restaurant) Magazine as one of the "6 of America's Most Inviting Hotel Restaurants". The new restaurant is part of the hotel's $12 million dollar renovation. Opened in August, the 100-seat Waterside Seafood Company focuses on traditionally prepared Southern classics and beautiful presentations.

Hilton Fort Collins recently completed the final stages of a renovation spanning all 255 guest accommodations and public areas, including the atrium-style Spring Street Grill, Espresso Shoppe, Spring Street Lounge, ballroom space, and pool area with indoor swimming pool and whirlpool. The fitness center was also newly renovated in addition to a facelift to the exterior including new outdoor signage and upgraded landscaping and parking.

A Go-Fund-Me page was created to assist our associates in Houston impacted by the hurricane. The money raised will be distributed to Atrium Hospitality associates who have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Atrium Hospitality will match everything raised dollar for dollar. Atrium Hospitality corporate team members, along with Hobby Marriott leadership, will distribute the funds to impacted associates who apply for assistance.

Atrium Hospitality recently appointed Obed H. Morales as General Manager of Embassy Suites by Hilton Dallas Forth Worth North in Grapevine, Texas. He's held managerial roles at all-suite hotels, including 14 Embassy Suites properties, for the last 15 years.

Sales Manager Jordan Holley from our Embassy Suites by Hilton Cary was awarded Horizon Award, an honor recognizing the exemplary attitude and professionalism of a local, management-level employee who demonstrates the skills to be a future leader in the industry. This individual is a team player who displays a passion for work, challenges the norm to make the organization stronger, and takes pride in the hospitality and tourism industry. Jordan received five nominations from clients and colleagues praising his work as a future leader of our industry.

The American Red Cross presented General Manager, John Parker from the Chateau on the Lake Resort, with a recognition plaque for the hotel's service during the boating tragedy on the lake in Branson, Missouri. The Red Cross was very thankful for the associates of the Chateau and all they did, from feeding, housing, and making sure the first responders were kept as comfortable as possible under very stressful conditions.

Chef Daniel Dennis from our Cedar Rapids Marriott was featured on Fox 28 News preparing the restaurant's breakfast dish for Restaurant Week in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Tom Dwyer from our Embassy Suites by Hilton Loveland, CO was awarded the Rotarian of the Year Award in recognition for all the work that both he and the hotel do for the community.

Sonoma County recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of the certified tourism ambassador program by awarding hospitality industry professionals who exemplify service. No one was more deserving than Tony Bucklen, the former general manager of the Hilton Sonoma Wine Country that burned to the ground in the wildfires. He was awarded the Sonoma County Certified Tourism Ambassador of the Year award Feb. 22 at Soda Rock Winery in Healdsburg.

The Iowa Lodging Association recognizes those who go above and beyond in Iowa's hotel industry at the annual Stars of the Industry Awards Dinner. Ana Smith, Maintenance Engineer, was nominated for Spirit of Hospitality, Jessica Fink, Group Rooms Coordinator, for Heart of the House, and Elisa Carlson, Bell Person, for Front of the House. We are proud to announce Elisa Carlson as the 2017 Front of the House Employee of the Year.

Brandon Bybee has worked as a kitchen steward at the Renaissance World Golf Village Resort in St. Augustine, FL for 6 years. He recently won the 2017 Annual Marriott ROSE Award, the mission of which is to honor non-managerial hospitality employees or volunteers who provide excellent customer service. Through one-on-one or behind the scenes contact, these industry champions positively influence a visitor's experience.

Executive Chef Dean along with his teammate and brother Matt Thompson won the "Cooking for a Classic" series on February 7 in Raleigh, North Carolina. They made it through several rounds taking out well known teams to ultimately win the entire competition.

The Embassy Suites Columbia - Greystone was awarded the Business Partnership Award by the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department for their outstanding achievement in providing employment opportunities for citizens with disabilities.

Executive Chef Matt Thompson from the Embassy Suites Raleigh/Durham won the people's choice award at the local March of Dimes Chef's Auction. Matt's chef's auction package helped raise $800 for the March of Dimes.

Hattie Wakefield from our Embassy Suites Greenville was named Lodging Heart of the House Employee of the Year by the Greater Greenville Chapter of the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association. Nominees are judged on performance that goes above and beyond the normal job expectations both at and away from work, including outstanding and unusual service to their company, to their customers and to their community.

Our Embassy Suites by Hilton Des Moines Downtown was recognized by the Greater Des Moines Convention & Visitors Bureau as the 2016-2017 Visitors Choice Award "Hotel of the Year".

Josh Dillinger and Allie Overley from our Holiday Inn & Suites Cincinnati-Eastgate were recognized for their excellent service at their local ROSE Awards Event. "ROSE" stands for Recognition of Service Excellence. Allie and Josh were recognized for their excellent service, along with other superstars of Greater Cincinnati's hospitality industry.

Our Capitol Plaza Hotel Topeka was recognized by the American Cancer Society for providing the most free hotel rooms to cancer patients in Kansas for the past three years. In 2016, the hotel provided 36 free nights.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Kansas City Airport for being awarded a Hilton Merit Award for "Excellence in Revenue Management." The hotel received this prestigious award based on their rate growth strategies for corporate and local accounts.

Joy Bryant from our Embassy Suites by Hilton Columbia Greystone won the "Spirit of Embassy" Award. This is Hilton's highest form of brand-specific Team Member recognition! Winners are nominated and selected based on their effort and dedication to positively impact their department, teammates and/or the community. She also received the Director of Sales Award of Merit at the recent All Suites Brand Celebration in Las Vegas. This award goes to Directors of Sales who best represent the values, brand hospitality and sales commitment of the Embassy Suites brand.

Susan Beard from our Holiday Inn NWA Springdale won the "Annual Women's Expo Cook-Off" for the second year in a row. This special event brings together thousands of women to sample, experience and purchase products and services to help them live a better and more fulfilling life.

Last week the Crowne Plaza Denver Airport Convention Center Sales team volunteered for Operation Christmas Child to help spread holiday cheer in the community by providing holiday gifts to children throughout the world. Members of the Sales Team put together boxes, packed them with toys, and shipped them to less fortunate children in more than 100 countries.

Atrium Hospitality chose to support North Fulton Community Charities for their annual back-to-school drive. NFCC is a non-profit human service agency dedicated to preventing homelessness of individuals residing north of the Chattahoochee River in Fulton County. They assist families with basic needs such as food, rent and utilities, clothing, and adult education classes. In two weeks, we collected 22 backpacks and over $500 worth of school supplies for students.

The Hilton Long Beach completed a full-scope, top to bottom renovation in late 2015. The completely re-imagined and transformed hotel boasts 399 fully-renovated guest rooms, 26,000 sq. ft. of new meeting and banquet facilities, a new fitness center, and its heralded new lobby, complete with modern and artistic expressions throughout all public space. The Gathering Kitchen & Bar on the lobby level is exactly where travelers and locals want to be, with communal seating and 10 TVs throughout, even boasting a 110" TV for the big games!

Angel Johnson, our Director of Corporate Systems, attended the annual New Market conference in Las Vegas last month. She was elected President of the Amadeus/New Market Hotel Partners Group. In her newly elected position, she'll be leading a collection of hotel companies that use New Market products, advocating for common interests, networking, brainstorming and sharing best practices.

We are fortunate to have two former Head Start parents working for Embassy Suites by Hilton USF/Busch Gardens Hotel located within our immediate neighborhood. When our staff contacted them, they were very excited about creating a once in a lifetime experience for our children.

The Embassy Suites in Greenville, South Carolina recently donated lint from their laundry to a local Boy Scouts group. This talented group of boys collects donated lint and repurposes it into compost and "fire logs" for camping trips. With the hotel's cooperation, they won the regional qualifier and are going to the State Finals.  The hotel has committed to recycling their dryer lint to the Make a Difference Garden for composting units.

Our Blue Energy Committee at the Hilton Fort Collins is raising money to support a family this holiday season. We are collecting money through December 18th and purchasing the gifts on the 19th. The Committee is also giving back to the community by buying bicycles for the Bikes for Tykes program. Our employees are excited to give back to our tight-knit community.

The Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel supports the Southeastern Virginia Food Bank throughout the year. In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day several team members worked with the SEVA to distribute food baskets to neighbors in need. The hotel supports the important mission of the Southeastern Virginia Food Bank throughout the year by conducting canned food drives as well as donating turkeys for the Thanksgiving holiday. Our guests also get into the giving spirit by taking advantage of our "give back and save" package which offers a 20% room discount with a donation of 2 or more canned goods.

On October 16, 2015, the Embassy Suites by Hilton Monterey Bay Seaside celebrated its 20th birthday. The hotel organized a big luncheon party for all staff to attend and celebrate. Atrium goodies were distributed to all staff to welcome them to the new management company, and there was even 1995 music and trivia played throughout!

The Platte County EDC is a non-profit corporation with a mission to promote, enhance and grow economic development in Platte County, Missouri. Each company honored for this award is new to, or has expanded in, Platte County. Company impacts include: new investment, job creation, increased visibility and increased tax base in Platte County.

Our Renaissance Hotel Oklahoma City Convention Center & Spa was featured this week on their local news for their participation in Project SEARCH, an organization created to provide employment and education opportunities for individuals with significant disabilities. Project Search selected Michael Milton, a kitchen steward at the Renaissance Hotel, to receive this year's Make A Difference Mentor Award.

NextGen Under 30 recognizes and encourages the next generation of innovative, creative, and inspiring individuals who push the boundaries in various categories of endeavor.

The Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) honored local employees, restaurants, businesses, and hotels Thursday evening during an awards ceremony at B&D Gastro Pub in celebration of National Tourism Week. For the third year, the CVB asked residents and visitors to nominate and subsequently vote for their favorite places in Charleston; and the Embassy Suites by Hilton Charleston won for Favorite Lodging.

Our Capitol Plaza Hotel Topeka was named "Best Hotel in Topeka" by the Topeka Capital-Journal. Topeka residents voted in print and online from April 24 to May 23 for their favorites, with more than 335,000 votes cast this year.

The 234-suite Embassy Suites by Hilton Des Moines Downtown is the recent recipient of numerous top accolades, including the prestigious TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame Award. This special designation recognizes businesses that have been awarded a Certificate of Excellence for five years in a row from TripAdvisor, the world's largest travel site.

The Greater Greenville Chapter of the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association announced the winners of the 4th Annual Upstate Hospitality Awards. Chef Alan was recognized as one of the best and brightest in the hospitality industry. Chef Alan is automatically nominated into the statewide SCRLA Stars of South Carolina Hospitality Awards.

Meetings Today is proud to announce that Embassy Suites by Hilton Des Moines has won a Best of Meetings Today award for the first time. Each year Meetings Today lets its audience, made up of planners who hold events globally, determine the best hotels and resorts for meetings and events in North America.

The Holiday Inn & Convention Center Northwest Arkansas won the prestigious "Quality Excellence Award" from IHG for 2016. This award is given to hotels achieving distinction in all aspects of their operations.

Our Holiday Inn NWA Springdale hotel won another "Top 3rd" worldwide award for outstanding guest service from ‪IHG‬. To qualify for the award hotels need a Guest Relations Index score of less than 0.09 which equates to less than one quality/service complaint per 11,654 rooms occupied. Our hotel scored 0.04 which equates to less than 1 per 26,221 rooms occupied

With their $5,000 reward they purchased new 27" monitors and are donating the old 15" ones. The also bought Standup Desks for the team. Having a move flexible work space was very important to them. And lastly they bought a Microsoft Surface for customer visits.

Amanda Burel from the Hampton Inn & Suites Elk Grove won the Spirit of Hampton Award. This is the brand's highest form of individual recognition, awarded to team members who consistently exceed expectations, live Hamptonality, and positively impact guests and the hotel.

Ten Directors of Sales were selected for Hilton's second-ever Elite Director of Sales class. They will benefit from a full year of career development strategies, opportunities to learn from other sales leaders and special recognition for all their achievements.

Our Embassy Suites Portland was one of 117 hotels worldwide that won a grant and one of 20 hotels worldwide that won the $5,000 grand prize. The money will be used to support their local effort in conjunction with Albertina Kerr, Multnomah County and Vocational Rehabilitiation Service of Oregon. The Project SEARCH program in their hotel now has eight interns who work in various departments. The program is designed to give developmentally disabled adults the opportunity to gain job skills that could lead to gainful employment.

We at Atrium Hospitality are incredibly excited and proud that Tricia has won this honor. Her proactive approach and deployment of key strategies helped her to achieve successful results in RevPAR, RPI, shoulder night occupancy, sellout efficiency, peak night ADR, and Premium Room sales.

Our Hilton Long Beach received the highest combined Problem Resolution and Overall Loyalty scores on SALT, and the most combined improvement out of all hotels in the Americas regions with less than 500 rooms for the 4th Quarter 2015.

Riann was nominated by her General Manager, Skip Hammerman, and was selected from dozens of great leaders - her year over year SALT score improvements, Nor1 success, Upsell Program results, Revenue Management focus, participation in corporate programs/events (like the monthly Front Office Webinars and HHonors challenges) and team member recognition made her a standout. Last spring, she was awarded the trophy…which came with a 5 night vacation to any Embassy Suites in the world, airfare for two and $1,200 spending money.
